This section contains special issues related to the LensControl service.
Centre weighted average
In most modern cameras, the default system settings (when auto-iris, auto-focus, and other auto-configuration features are on) are a 'centre weighted average', meaning that although the settings take an average reading of a whole scene, more emphasis is placed in the middle of the frame. Consequently image detail will be lost for areas surrounding the center
Stopping changes to focus
If you do not make an explicit request to make the camera focus in or out, the camera will continue to either focus in or out (or more specifically keep trying to focus in or out even though it is at focus limit) until you make a specific request to stop.
Stopping iris control
If you do not make an explicit request to make the camera open or clos the iris, the camera will continue to either move open or close the iris (or more specifically keep trying to open or close it even though the iris is already completely open or closed) until you make a specific request to stop.
