System Manager Issues

Device IDs

The IDs of devices on an Endura network are stored on the System Manager, and not on the devices themselves.

Siemens SiPass can no longer connect to a device

Systems like Siemens SiPass still use regular integer IDs, instead of a GUID or friendly name. After upgrading or re-imaging a System Manager to version 1.03.0026 or lower, the System Manager will no longer store these integer IDs such as the Camera Number field. Consequently some users have reported being unable to connect to a device like a VCD. To resolve this issue, upgrade to the latest System Manager software.

Lenel OnGuard can no longer connect to a device

Systems like Lenel OnGuard still use regular integer IDs, instead of a GUID or friendly name.

Inconsistent Query Results

The System Manager is returning inconsistent query results. It returns a constantly varying number of devices with no clear pattern.

Some older versions of the System Manager will return a sequence number with a value of 1, which is invalid. Under certain circumstances, a result of "true" is assigned to an integer. Therefore, it is safe to assume that a state delta sequence number of 1 is invalid.   This has been resolved in the following versions of system manager firmware:
  • 01.03.0026 or higher in the 1.3 branch
  • 01.04.0025 or higher in the 1.4 branch

  • The latest DVR5100 software includes the SystemManager 01.04.0026 firmware.

Please ensure that you are passing in the correct state delta sequence number every time you make a query request. To begin with you should always use 0 for the state delta sequence number. For more details, see the System Manager Usage information.
